Hilton Head HarbourFest 2026 Fireworks Schedule & Best Viewing Tips

HarbourFest 2026 Is Here! The Best Seats Are on the Water

Few summer traditions are as iconic on Hilton Head Island as HarbourFest at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina. Now in its 37th year, this all-summer celebration draws families to the waterfront for live music, entertainment, local vendors, and spectacular fireworks displays over Broad Creek.

If you are planning a visit this summer, here is everything you need to know.

HarbourFest 2026 Fireworks Schedule

The HarbourFest fireworks shows take place on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer, with a special Independence Day celebration drawing some of the largest crowds of the season.

Remaining Tuesday fireworks dates:

  • June 30
  • July 7
  • July 14
  • July 21
  • July 28
  • August 4
  • August 11
  • August 18

Special Fourth of July fireworks: Saturday, July 4

Fireworks begin once the sky is fully dark, typically around 9:00 PM, weather permitting.

HarbourFest 2026 Guide - Hilton Head Dolphin Tours

What to Expect Before the Fireworks

The festivities begin well before sunset. The marina comes alive with family-friendly entertainment, local artists, waterfront dining, and activities for children.

Popular attractions include:

  • Live family shows from longtime favorite Shannon Tanner
  • Cappy the Clown with face painting and kids activities
  • Local vendors and artisans
  • Waterfront restaurants and bars
  • Beautiful sunset views over Broad Creek

The atmosphere feels like a classic summer waterfront festival and draws both visitors and locals all season long.

The Challenge: Crowds and Parking

As HarbourFest has grown in popularity, so have the crowds. Parking fills quickly on fireworks nights, traffic around Shelter Cove can become congested, and finding a comfortable viewing spot often means arriving hours early.

For many visitors, the fireworks are worth it. But there is another way to experience the show.

The Best Way to Watch HarbourFest Fireworks

Watching the fireworks from the water offers a completely different perspective. Instead of standing shoulder to shoulder on the marina boardwalk, you get open views of the fireworks reflecting across Broad Creek while avoiding the busiest parts of the crowd.

A private evening fireworks cruise creates a relaxed experience where your group can enjoy the sunset, spot dolphins along the way, and settle in for the show from the water. Many guests tell us it is one of the most memorable nights of their Hilton Head vacation.

Combine a Sunset Cruise with HarbourFest Fireworks

One of the most popular ways to experience HarbourFest is to pair the evening fireworks with a sunset cruise. The golden-hour views across Broad Creek are spectacular, and as darkness falls, the fireworks provide a dramatic finale to the evening.

If you are looking for a more private and personalized experience, our captained private sunset cruises let your family or group enjoy the evening away from the crowds while still keeping front-row views of the show.

HarbourFest Tips for First-Time Visitors

  • Arrive early if you are viewing from land
  • Make restaurant reservations well in advance
  • Expect heavy traffic after the fireworks
  • Bring chairs if watching from public viewing areas
  • Check weather conditions before heading out
  • Consider viewing from the water for a more relaxed experience

Plan Your HarbourFest Night

Whether you choose the lively marina atmosphere or a private evening on the water, HarbourFest remains one of Hilton Head’s signature summer experiences. The fireworks, waterfront setting, and family-friendly entertainment create a memorable night for visitors of all ages.

If you want the most comfortable and scenic way to enjoy the show, a private fireworks cruise offers an unforgettable front-row seat on Broad Creek. Summer dates fill quickly, so reserve early to lock in your night.

HarbourFest Fireworks FAQ

When are the HarbourFest fireworks in 2026?

HarbourFest fireworks happen on Tuesday evenings through the summer, plus a special Independence Day show on Saturday, July 4. Remaining 2026 dates are June 30, July 7, 14, 21, and 28, and August 4, 11, and 18. Shows begin once the sky is fully dark, typically around 9:00 PM, weather permitting.

Where do the HarbourFest fireworks take place?

The fireworks are launched over Broad Creek at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina, 13 Harbourside Ln, Hilton Head Island. The marina hosts live music, family entertainment, and waterfront dining before the show.

What is the best way to watch the HarbourFest fireworks?

Many visitors watch from the marina boardwalk, but parking fills early and crowds build fast. Watching from the water on a private boat charter gives you open views of the fireworks over Broad Creek, a sunset cruise beforehand, and the chance to spot dolphins, all away from the busiest crowds.

What time should I arrive for the HarbourFest fireworks?

If you are watching from land, arrive a few hours early to find parking and a comfortable viewing spot, since traffic around Shelter Cove gets congested on fireworks nights. If you are watching from a private boat, your captain times the evening around the show so you do not have to fight the crowds.

Ready to Get Your Group on the Water?

A private fireworks cruise turns one of the biggest nights of the summer into the best part of your trip. Your boat, your group, and a front-row view of the show over Broad Creek. When you are ready, reserve your private Hilton Head fireworks cruise or call or text (843) 321-8075.

Captain Brody

At 14yrs old I started SCUBA diving and found a love for the water. Little did I know how much that would directly affect my life.

At 18 I started off working in kitchens and racing Soling sailboats on Wednesday nights and weekends in Lake Michigan. After seven years in Wisconsin my culinary career brought me to South Carolina where I continue to cook, fish and boat as often as possible.

In the past year I've decided I want to spend my time sharing my knowledge and love for the ocean with all.

Highly recommend!! We were supposed to do a Disappearing Island tour, but the weather was not cooperating. Instead, Captain Brody took us on a shark tooth and sea shell tour - we had such a good time! Captain Brody was very nice, helped us find a bunch of fossilized shark teeth, showed us several homes on the water, shared some history of the Hilton Head area, and stopped any time we saw a dolphin (there were several). Captain Brody even took the time to rescue a hat that blew overboard - he did a great job!
Response from the owner:Thankyou you Jacob for the five star review and im glad we were able to piviot the vanishing island tour to searching for sharks teeth

Captain Brody was an amazing tour guide for our dolphin boat tour! We saw so many dolphins!!! His knowledge of dolphins combined with his easy going personality (we had to change our time several times due to weather and schedule changes on our end) made for the perfect outing! His tour is the best kept secret in Hilton Head!

He is a great tour guide. We did the shortest dolphin tour and he is so knowledgeable about the waterways and wildlife. We saw lots of dolphins and once you see them pop their head up, you start to see them all over. I booked another trip for the fall and cant' wait.

We went on the disappearing island tour this week and had a great time! We’ve done many dolphin tours before but this was our first time booking a private tour. Definitely worth the money! The boat ride was fun and comfortable, the island was a neat experience, plus we got to see lots of dolphins. The best part was we could take our dog, and I truly think it was the best day of his life!
